Seriously, this is really awesome. Y'know, with the amount of money you've spent, you could've built a few Titan Legions

Hey Bolton... I'm Oldham

A long time ago

And.......... No

My three sons argue all the time... who is dad leaving it all to.

I told them I'm taking it all with me... an I'm getting cremated.

And I'm NOT adding more people to the mix

Im a Security Officer in a full time perm site, however, I've recently earned a BA degree in Criminology and I am starting up a Security/Risk management Consulting firm - maybe another year away before fully operational.

As I've said before... no kids at home, brilliant wife, a bit of money keeps popping up now and again... we don't smoke, infrequent social drinkers, don't do pubs and clubs... we do have a huge DVD collection though - that keeps us busy, when I'm not doing this of course.

To answer the next question... I find the time coz I'm on a 4 days on, 4 days off roster - and my wife works 5/6 days a week.

us security guards must have big armies and lots of time off for building and painting figs my gaming buddies think I am nuts I need to show them your posts.

I've actually done that type of thing before...

When I moved into a new house (way back) - and there was little landscaping done... so at the house warming I told all my guests to bring a piece a grass (sod, turf, etc) each and we filled in the patches.

Amazing thread. I'm really interested to see how you progress with this, and how the painting goes. I also like your storage system. If I ever get a house with a basement, I'll have to look into something similar for storing my much more modest collection.

It's good to see more sick in the head modelers out there ^_^. Your project is just the right kind of crazy that Dakka needs!

It would seem to fit better over in the P&M Blogs though, so I'm going to send it that way.

Really looking forward to seeing paint go on all these models o.o...

You need to convince a local school to teach painting as art, then give them a painting guide, tell em its part of thier GCSE's or A levels, and let them do the painting for you

This sums up my initial reaction o.O ................................................ O.o

Aside fromt aking you an ungodly amount of time looks like it will be alot of fun.

I have played a number of 15-20k point games and they take on averege 4-6 hours depending on the armies.

How long does a 50k point game take to play??

Also if you buy me 48k points of Tau I will come over and play against you daily j/k or am I?

That is too awesome.

I suggest that assembly-line is the only way to go on something this big. Also, plan to spray, detail, & wash, when you get around to painting.

Necros wrote:When it comes time to paint.. I reccomend the Army Painter blue primer spray.. it's the perfect ultramarine blue color and it will help you get it all done a lot quicker. Between that spray and a good wash with some of the army painter washes you should be able to save a lot of painting time.

Good luck

Seconded!! This kind of solutions keep you alive.

And good sir, JUST DO IT!!! Fething awesome dedication and helping GW through the hard times too.

Ultramarines is just over A$3000

Imperial Guard is A$4000

with about another A$1000 to go

When you have it... you decide what you spend it on and when

When you don't have it... you have to ask for it and then wait for them to give it to you

This project is a 20 year dream.. I have it

Apocalypse is not everyones cup of tea - some people still prefer coffee
